Doctors — Mike Jones

I qualified from St Mary’s Medical School, London, in 1978; and have been a partner in the practice since 1983.

I have been a GP trainer since 1990 and am also involved in providing clinical supervision for HYMS medical students. In addition I act as educational supervisor for several GP registrars on the York Vocational Training Scheme.

In 2003 I completed a Certificate in Primary Education at Leeds University to support and comlement my interest in adult learning.

My partnership responsibilities include IT (I founded the York branch of the EMIS user group) and prescribing.

I have a particular clinical interest in mental health and substance misuse.

I am a keen scuba diver (BSAC) qualified to Dive Leader, an Open Water Instructor working with(http://www.excalibursac.co.uk/ )in York and also enjoy technical diving using an Inspiration Vision rebreather and diving with Silent Running.
I am an HSE Approved Medical Examiner of Divers and a referee for the UK Sprots Dive Committee.
